Groundworks, building & landscaping — done properly.
CN Construction plans, builds and finishes projects across Surrey & West Sussex — from excavation and structural groundwork through to decking, patios and planting. One team, start to finish.
Three trades. One accountable team.
Most projects fall down at the join between trades. We remove the join — planning groundworks, building and landscaping together so your project moves in one direction, on one plan.
Groundworks
Site clearance, excavation, drainage, sub-bases and foundations — the unglamorous work that everything else depends on.
Explore Groundworks 02Building
Extensions, structural carpentry, timber-frame builds and general building work, finished to a standard that's built to last.
Explore Building 03Landscaping
Decking, patios, garden structures and planting that turn a finished build into a garden you'll actually use.
Explore LandscapingA garden deck, built from the ground up.
A full-width raised deck and step-down to the lawn, in Surrey — from the first site survey to the final handover. This is the same process we run on every groundworks-to-landscaping project.

Survey & Mark-Out
Levels, drainage falls and the deck footprint are set out on site before anything is dug.

Groundworks & Sub-Base
Ground prepared, membrane down and the sub-frame set level on the right footings.

Frame & Structure
The structural frame goes in square, level and fixed to take the finished load.

Decking & Steps
Boards, stepped access and balustrade posts fixed and finished by hand.

Finished & Handed Over
Site cleared, deck inspected and handed over ready to use.
Groundworks included, not subcontracted out.
Most landscapers hand groundworks off to a separate contractor — which is exactly where delays, poor drainage and finger-pointing start. We do our own groundworks, so the person who dug the footings is accountable for the finished result.
- Site clearance, excavation & drainage handled in-house
- Sub-bases and foundations set out to last, not just to pass
- One point of contact from first dig to final finish
Built to last, finished to impress.
The parts you can't see matter just as much as the parts you can. We set out proper foundations and structure first, then take the same care on the visible finish — clean lines, tight joints, tidy site.
- Quality materials specified for the job, not the cheapest option
- Structural work signed off before the finish goes on
- Site left clean and tidy at every stage, not just at the end
